The Arc of Northern Virginia is a non-profit membership organization that represents and serves individuals with developmental disabilities and their families in the counties of Fairfax and Arlington and the cities of Falls Church and Alexandria. Living and working in the community are the cornerstones of The Arc's vision.
Description:
We provide information and referral, training, workshops, and support. We advocate to improve and innovate services, like respite, residential options, and inclusive education. Through our Personal Support Network we offer future planning options, support coordination, and financial management, and respite services.
Our emphasis as an advocacy organization focuses on the exisitng gaps in public/private services and realizing ways to better provide those services. We educate state legislators and the general population about the issues that people with disabilities face, and try to offer solutions.
Join us in our efforts to "Build Communities for Citizens with Disabilities".
