Statement of Mission & Purpose: Family Service Agency of San Bernardino provides professional counseling, family education and supportive services to meet the challenge of contemporary societal conditions which affect families, individuals and organizations.

Description:
Family Service Agency of San Bernadino's Outpatient Clinics provide a wide range of counseling and educational community outreach services to children, adolescents and adults in San Bernardino, Crestline and Fontana. The majority of our clients are classified as at-risk and low-income. Fees are based on income with the cost of services supplemented by the United Way, City and County funds and the Agency fund-raising activities. Many programs are free. Available County programs include: Child Abuse Prevention, Intervention and Treatment (CAPIT); Children's Intensive Mental Health Services; Early Prevention, Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT) and Success First (Wraparound). FSA also offers classes at the Day Reporting Center and through Alternative Choices that focus on truancy, drug and alcohol abuse, anger management, gang intervention and cognitive life skills. Other programs include: Children of Addicted Parents (CAP); Specialized Treatment Offender Program (STOP); Domestic Violence prevention; Thinking for a Change and Parenting. Crestline Special Services offers a Food and Clothing Bank, Utility and Rent Assistance, and basic needs vouchers for mountain community residents.

History:
Family Service Agency of San Bernardino is a private, non-profit Agency founded in 1947 by local citizens to provide affordable professional counseling for families. Originally funded by the Community Chest with a budget of $18,094, it employed one full-time staff. The Agency services and expanded programs have continued through the years in San Bernardino with branch offices in Fontana and Crestline. With a professional staff of 35, FSA now has a $2.7 million budget for programs.
