St. John’s guides our neighborhood youth towards post secondary success by addressing critical educational and college access gaps in the Mission community.
Description:
St. John’s helps position the children of San Francisco’s Mission District for success by addressing critical educational and college access gaps in the community. St. John’s serves over 1,000 ethnically diverse, low income students annually. Most youth attend local public schools where up to 80% of students score below the 50th percentile on standardized tests. St. John’s works closely with Mission schools and families to provide both after-school and summer academic enrichment programs.
History:
Since 1972 St. John's has worked with youth and families of San Francisco's Mission District to increase the academic success of our youth. A non-sectarian, nonprofit organization, St. John’s honors its roots by using the name of the church that founded the agency.
