The Coyote Point Museum is a learning center that inspires each of us to make a lifelong commitment to act responsibly in caring for the earth. We provide engaging, educational experiences for our diverse, multi-generational Bay Area Community through wildlife, gardens, exhibitions and programs that relate to the global environment.
Description:
For decades, volunteers have found dozens of rewarding ways to get involved at the Coyote Point Museum for Environmental Education. From the dedicated docents who lead tours around the Museum and Wildlife Habitats, or off site at the country parks and tide pools, to the college student considering a career in veterinary medicine who gets to work directly with wildlife, to the busy mom who volunteers a few hours working with toddlers, to the executive who helps out an occasional weekend ? with his family, to the teenager who works as a Counselor in Training in our summer camp program, the Coyote Point Museum provides a rewarding experience to volunteers ? and perhaps that is why some of our long term volunteers have been helping out for over 30 years! Teen Teams is another program at the museum that allows teens and their parents to train as Weekend Interpretative Guides. In addition to quality family time these teens can fulfill their community hours in an exciting educational environment. Changing exhibitions offer an opportunity for docents to improve the museum experience for visitors of all ages. One time or short-term events make it easy for busy professionals to fit in a volunteer experience. Even basic office and computer assistance is needed. If you are looking for an exciting, rewarding volunteer opportunity in a beautiful environment, the Coyote Point Museum is looking for you!
