PACT’s goal is to see that underprivileged youth in the Bay Area receive the assistance and support they need to go to college. We facilitate free services such as college application assistance and providing access to scholarship opportunities. We also provide tutoring services at the following schools: James Lick Middle School, Willie L. Brown College Preparatory and Balboa High School. Given our services are free to our students, we rely greatly on support from our community. Duties assigned to PACT volunteers would include: filing, archiving, answering phones, helping our advisor's when needed and tutoring opportunities. Summer volunteering would take place at the San Francisco PACT office. Hours are flexible depending on availability and program needs.
No experience necessary, but computer skills and the ability to work with others are strongly preferred. Volunteers should have the ability to work in a non-profit office setting while maintaining a responsible and mature demeanor. Dependability and a positive attitude are greatly desired. Resumes are encouraged but not required.
