Description:
The Newseum opened in Washington, DC, April, 2008

The Newseum features seven levels of attractions, including 14 galleries, 15 theaters and more than 130 interactive experiences. The Newseum offers daily programming with journalists and newsmakers. It also offers a unique environment that takes museum-goers behind the scenes to experience how and why news is made.


History:
The Newseum opened in Arlington, VA in 1997 and closed in early 2002 in order to open a new facility in Washington, DC.
The Newseum is funded by the Freedom Forum; a non-partisan international foundation dedicated to free press, free speech and free spirit for all people. The foundation pursues its priorities through programs including conferences, educational activities, publishing, broadcasting, online services, fellowships, partnerships, training and research.
