The National Museum of Dentistry is experienced by 10,000 visitors annually. The museum provides innovative, age appropriate, oral health based educational programming for over 5,000 Maryland school-age children each year. The museum can be experienced on-site, online and through traveling exhibits. The NMD is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution. History:
The Samuel D. Harris National Museum of Dentistry first opened its doors to the public in 1996. The museum received Congressional Designation as the official museum of the dental profession in the United States in 2003. In 2006, the museum celebrated its 10th anniversary.
