Leadership Through Athletics is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving Baltimore area families by providing programs and opportunities that encourage leadership and values development, enhance youth educational experiences, and promote health and fitness.
Description:
Leadership Through Athletics (LTA) is a multi-faceted, 16,000 square foot athletic and community center, located in Lansdowne, MD. The center features two state-of-the-art gymnasiums, an indoor baseball training facility, a multi-purpose sports and meeting room, and an education and homework center equipped with computers and internet service. LTA currently provides free open gym and free access to our education center five afternoons a week. LTA offers volunteer opportunities for youth and adults, along with scholarships into all of our sports programs and leagues. We offer free homework tutoring as well as youth mentoring, and a free seniors walking program three mornings each week.
History:
Leadership Through Athletics was incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in 2002. The facility was constructed from the ground up, and opened the doors in December 2004. Since then, LTA has welcomed over 1,000 local youth as well as numerous community organizations.
