The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) offers individuals 55 and older rewarding opportunities to share their skills, interests and abilities in meaningful volunteer positions that make an impact in communities throughout Baltimore County. RSVP volunteers are matched with organizations in need of volunteers to help them complete their mission.

Description:
RSVP acts not only as a valuable clearinghouse of volunteer opportunities for Baltimore County seniors but also as a catalyst for developing a new group of volunteers to serve in leadership roles to help in the creation and oversight of specialized programs and educational courses for local programs within governmental agencies and the community.

History:
RSVP is sponsored by the Baltimore County Department of Aging under Baltimore County Volunteers. RSVP for Baltimore County has 1,800 volunteers serving in over 120 locations who contribute over 255,000 hours per year. RSVP is a federally funded program from the Corporation for National & Community Service in which half-a-million volunteers contribute 80 million hours of service annually to 60,000 community agencies.
