Lansdowne/Baltimore Highlands Senior Center's mission is to promote healthy, active and independent living in the community and to provide, coordinate and advocate services which ensure the highest quality of life for both active and health impaired seniors, their families and care providers.

Description:
Lansdowne/Baltimore Highlands Senior Center provides a secure and safe surroundings for the members of the facility. The center provides numerous programs ranging from educational, physical, psychological and social activities. The center is a gathering for seniors to socialize with one another, to become involved with the center and their community. The center's environment is conducive in creating an atmosphere for relaxing and spending a enjoyable day with their peers. Along with all the center provides is an eating together program that seniors sign up to receive a nutritional meal for a nominal donation.

History:
Lansdowne/Baltimore Highlands Senior Center was created in the mid 1970's by Baltimore County who saw a growing need to provide programs and an eating program for the seniors in the communities. It began in local churches that rented out their basements to the County. In the late 1980's the County saw the need to build the seniors their own facility due to the growing senior population. The center has over 550 members and growing to a point where the facility needs to enlarge.

 Take the beltway 695 and get of exit 9 Hollins Ferry Road towards Lansdowne. Take Hollins Ferry Road for about 2-3 miles and make a left onto Third Street. The Center will be on the right side.
