AIRS
| Last updated on January 18, 2008 |
Mission: To provide residential services and a continuum of quality care and support that enhances the lives of low-income individuals and families living with or at risk of HIV/AIDS.
Description:
AIRS is providing comfortable, caring, safe environments where people with HIV/AIDS will receive supportive services. With this assistance, this population will be able to contribute to their community. Providing this comfortable environment helps HIV/AIDS clients to eliminate unfit conditions and unmet needs that prevent them from living productive, long lives.
History:
In 1987, AIRS was founded by the Central Maryland Ecumenical Council as the faith community's response to the AIDS epidemic. AIRS now serves more than 165 people in its housing program for homeless or low-income individuals and families who are infected/affected with HIV/AIDS in the Baltimore community.
