Our goals are to improve education and schooling outcomes for the children of Baltimore and to provide community-based learning, support, and professional development programs for children, parents, and classroom teachers.

Description:
Visions for Education, a program of Dayspring, Inc., is an educational facility in the Park Heights community that provides children and youth with innovative, intellectually rigorous, high quality learning settings that emphasize moral/spiritual/character development, high academic achievement, family and community support for education, and research-based practices that support the developmental needs of disadvantaged children.

Visions for Education aims to improve academic achievement and promote positive developmental outcomes through:
*out-of-school programs for elementary, middle, and high school students;
*parent education and accessible education resources;
*professional development for classroom teachers; and
*partnerships in support of community goals for children.

History:
Dayspring, Inc. was incorporated in March 1982 as a private, nonprofit organization and was granted 501(c)(3) status by the Internal Revenue Service in October 1982. Dayspring operated its early education and child care program, Rainbow's End Preschool and Child Care Center, from 1982 to 1995, serving more than 300 families in the Park Heights and surrounding communities.
Dayspring, Inc. has operated school-age summer programs, helped to pioneer the use of developmentally appropriate computer-assisted learning, sponsored educational outreach services at community and citywide events, employed and trained community residents as well as teacher education students from local colleges and universities, and watched with pride as former students excelled in public, private, and parochial schools. Consequently, we know our community, its people, and its issues well.
