Advocates for Survivors of Torture and Trauma (ASTT) is a non-profit human rights organization in Baltimore and we are looking for some help in creating an Access database. The US government estimates that there are 40,000 torture survivors living in the Baltimore-Washington area. ASTT provides comprehensive, holistic services for survivors of torture and war trauma who live in the Baltimore-Washington region. We are dedicated to fostering a process of healing that enables survivors to rediscover their sense of hope for the future. For more information about our organization, please see our website: www.astt.org. At the moment, we are trying to raise funds for new programs to benefit our clients. In December, we held an art sale as a fundraiser but were unable to sell all of the pieces that were donated to us. We would like to create a database to catalog the pieces of art and track our fundraising progress. We are looking for a volunteer to help us in creating such a database. Although we cannot pay, we are able to provide an enriching experience for those who are interested in learning about human rights, working with people from other cultures and helping asylum seekers, refugees and immigrants.
