Position title: Dance Instructor
Description: Show and Tell Ministries After School Program is looking for a dance instructor that is prepared to demonstrate and teach youth.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Fifteen hours to 30 hours of classroom instruction and participation is required weekly. Part of the teaching assignment may be in the evening and/or online programs. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• the advancement of student learning through dedicated, exemplary instruction in accordance with established course outlines;
• participation in the development and revision of the curriculum and program review;
• participation in professional development activities;
• maintenance of current knowledge in the subject matter area and effective teaching/learning strategies for youth;
• maintenance of appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The applicant must possess one of the following qualifications:
• bachelor’s in dance or theater with dance, theater arts, performing arts, or music OR
• a valid Maryland community college instructor credential authorizing full-time instruction in dance OR
• at least 3 years of experience in the related field.

• teaching experience in World and Ethnic dance styles;
• strength in modern dance;
• demonstrated commitment to student learning and to the success of all students in an open-access learning environment;
• ability to motivate and teach in ways appropriate to the diverse backgrounds, cultures, and learning styles for youth;
• commitment to professional growth and development and to continued innovation and improvement of teaching;
• demonstrated excellence of preparation in the subject area and knowledge of diverse teaching and learning strategies;
• experience in dance history, dance kinesiology, or rhythmic analysis;
• ability to effectively work and communicate with the faculty, staff, students, the community, and the public.
