BUILDING COMMUNITY LOCALLY Keshet works in the Greater Boston area to: *Bring together GLBT Jews for social, cultural, and educational events such as: Quick Dates, an annual GLBT Jewish speed-dating event A family picnic during Gay Pride Week Text study from a queer perspective *Provide social, discussion, and support groups for GLBT youth, Orthodox, and transgender Jews: Ga'avah - a GLBT Jewish youth group Tiferet - a group for Orthodox GLBT Jews Trans Working Group (TWiG) - for transgender Jews
CREATING CHANGE NATIONALLY *Increase GLBT visibility in mainstream Jewish life. *Facilitate dialogue and change in Jewish institutions through capacity-building, support, training, and resources for staff and lay leaders. *Educate and mobilize the Jewish community to support GLBT civil rights, such as equal marriage. *Create safe and welcoming Jewish schools through workshops and resources for Hebrew schools, day schools, and youth groups.
