The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston is to help boys and girls, generally from disadvantaged circumstances, develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders.
Description:
Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston offers a variety of high-impact, affordable programs and services designed to assist in the educational, emotional, moral, and physical development of six to eighteen year olds, without regard to social, racial, ethnic, or religious background. BGCB operates five Clubs serving communities in Charlestown, Chelsea, Dorchester, Roxbury, and South Boston. Each club has a library, computer room, teen center, multi-purpose gym, arts room, music room, social recreation area and swimming pool. Our work extends beyond the walls of our five Clubs through partnerships with the Boston Public Schools and the Boston Police Department.
History:
Since 1893, with the opening of the Charlestown Club, Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston have grown to include five Clubs, four Shared-Space Clubs, and a Youth Service Providers Network, serving upwards of 13,000 youth annually.
