The mission of Malden Access Television is "to build community through media". MATV is a community media center located in MALDEN, MA. The center provides access to media production equipment and training. Local residents, organizations, elected officials, and educational institutions are empowered to use the electronic mass-media as a tool for community-building.
Description:
Since the center opened it's doors in 1989, MATV has become a place where people from all sectors of the community learn and work together to express their views, share their knowledge, explore their cultures, entertain, inform, and encourage citizen participation in community life. The board of directors, staff and volunteers of MATV continually strive to support its key areas of concern: providing local information, nurturing a sense of community, celebrating diversity, upholding the First Amendment, and empowering individuals with their democratic right to use the media for non-commercial free speech.
