VNA Hospice Care, formerly known as Hospice Care, Inc., provides physical, emotional, social and spiritual support to patients and families facing a life-limiting illness. Our program is directed toward care and comfort, rather than a cure. Care is provided in the person's home, or in long-term care facilities, group homes, and hospitals. Volunteers provide companionship and support, and/or visit with a patient to provide respite for the caregiver. Other volunteers help out in the office.

Description:
Using a team approach, VNA Hospice Care's services include visits from nurses, social workers, home health aides, chaplains and volunteers. Our volunteers are caring and compassionate men and women who want to contribute to others in a meaningful way. Volunteer training usually takes place in the fall and in the spring. History:
VNA Hospice Care was founded in 1979, in borrowed space and staffed only by volunteers. Today, VNAHC's staff includes a Medical Director, Clinicians, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Home Health Aides, Chaplains, Social Workers and over 60 volunteers. We now serve patients and families in over 40 communities in greater Boston including Winchester, Cambridge, Somerville, Medford, Belmont, Woburn, and Stoneham.
