Position title: Leadership Council Position
Description: This Leadership Council is comprised of community leaders who serve as volunteers for Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation. The Council implements comprehensive fundraising plans and engages a large and diverse body of donors and volunteers in support of children with life-threatening medical conditions. The specific duties and responsibilities of the Leadership Council are outlined in the Leadership Council Guidelines.

Each member of the Leadership Council shall:

 Serve the families served by Starlight Starbright through fundraising
 Be knowledgeable of all Starlight Starbright programs, organizational structure, current mission and vision statement.
 Collaborate with staff in the development and implementation of annual fundraising goals and related activities
 Assist with implementation of an annual (attainable) fundraising plan with defined objectives, success measures, and timelines
o The fundraising plan will be comprehensive, seeking donations and revenue from multiple sources, like individual donors, corporations, foundations and special events
 Maintain transparent processes and continuous improvement strategies that support sustainability and growth
o Debrief all activities as soon as possible
o Actively seek suggestions for improvement or enhancement and maintain good records of all discussions and input
 Seek potential donors, provide introductions and accompany staff to potential donor meetings when appropriate.
 Act as goodwill ambassadors for Starlight
 Ensure that the logo, mission, language and promotional materials are adopted and used according to Starlight brand standards.
 Provide guidance in the development of new communications and public relations tactics
 Identify in-kind resources for the creative expansion of public relations activities and outreach
