Help Homebound Seniors with Shopping Corporate Volunteer opportunity Volunteer opportunity for Youth

Last updated on March 21, 2008

This program matches a volunteer with a frail senior citizen who is unable to shop for their groceries or personal needs on their own. Some volunteers go to the store with the senior's shopping list, and other volunteers bring a senior to the store. Assignments are available on a weekly, bi-weekly, and as needed basis. The most frequent assignments are for grocery shopping, but assignments are also available for trips to the drug store or mall. Seniors who are able to shop on their own express great appreciation for our volunteer shoppers who help to maintain their independence.

If a volunteer plans to transport a senior in their own car, they need to have a valid driver's license, good driving record, and a reliable vehicle.
