Our mission is to empower, inform, and enlighten the community through educational documentaries and provide opportunities for individuals and organizations to constructively give back to our community members in need.

Description:
Career Day Mission: To provide detailed information to stir the minds of our youth and to pave the way for our children to reach for high ambitions and hopes for a bright future

CAP: The Career Awareness Project is an extension of the foundations' successful Career Awareness Day Program. The new program will consist of a 12-month series instead of a single day. The foundation will work with a pilot middle school (which has already been identified), in selecting 64 children that will participate in this exciting program each year.

CBI: The Communication Bridge Initiative will involve the foundation linking, and working closely with and several other Baltimore area non-profit organizations. The goal of this partnership is to provide the very important visual components, such as PSA's, Educational Programming, and Web Design to local non-profit, community-based, civic and neighborhood organizations so they can more effectively communicate their mission to the community, with the goal of educating the public about important social issues while empowering the organizations with the tools to give back.

Community In Touch: The foundation seeks to promote awareness by producing educational television programming focusing on community issues. The programming includes documentaries, half-hour shows and educational tapes. According to Mr. Mitchum, “We as individuals need to play our part in making a difference in our communities. These programs will help educate and bring awareness about troubling issues that face us everyday.”

Giving Back Campaigns: The campaigns are donation drives which provides shelters with all the necessities for individuals and families. The PMJ Foundation is committed to encouraging others to help others. There are two yearly drives; Holiday Drive (October-December)and Back to School Drive (July-August).

History:
The Foundation came to life because of the vision of Preston Mitchum, Jr., a news photographer in Baltimore. This position enables him to capture the sights and sounds of local stories of personal tragedies on tape. It has also sparked his passion to make a difference in our community. The Foundation is an organization dedicated to empowering and informing through educational television documentaries. Each of us can also empower those in need by simply giving back. The Foundation provides people the opportunity to give back, including volunteering for the clothing and toy drives as well as making financial contributions.
