EVE, Inc.'s Mission Provide shelter and supportive services for the victims of domestic violence while seeking to end domestic violence through public awareness and community education.
Description:
EVE's Programs Designed to empower survivors. EVE’s programs are client centered, confidential and FREE of charge. -Crisis Intervention/Client Support 24-hour crisis line to provide support, information and referrals. Crisis Line (517) 372-5572 -Shelter Temporary safe housing, meals and personal care items.
-Advocacy Case management services for shelter residents and non-residents in the areas of medical, financial, employment, legal aid, housing and transportation needs. -Counseling Individual and family counseling and support groups for women and children. -Personal Protection Order Office Technical assistance and information on the process of filing a Personal Protection Order. -Children’s Services Parenting classes, children’s support groups, children’s activities. -Community Education Includes Dating Violence Prevention Education for youth between 12-18; parent workshops on talking to children about healthy and unhealthy relationships; and presentations in the community on domestic violence and EVE’s services. Programs are available to shelter residents and non-residents. You do not need to live in Ingham County to receive services.
History:
Founded in 1977, the Council Against Domestic Assault (CADA), now known as EVE, Inc., formed to provide a safe shelter to women and children experiencing domestic violence.
