Earthfire Institute's mission is to provide refuge and rehabilitation to rescued native wildlife, who in turn offer a bridge connecting humans with the natural world, and encourage humans to save their habitat.
Description:
Earthfire's animals help realize that connection through intimate innovative programs in five areas: ANIMAL CARE: Earthfire is home to native wildlife that cannot survive in the wild, including wolves, grizzly and black bear, bison, badger, lynx, mountain lions, foxes, bobcats, and others. They are given the best care from the time they arrive, all the way through old age and death including mainstream and alternative health care.
CONSERVATION: Making educational films, currently "Interconnections: Wildlife By-Ways" a short locally based film on the importance of wildlife corridors in the in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. EDUCATION: Storytelling, school programs, and workshops here at Earthfire, help people become more inspired, informed and energized to work for animal homes in the wild. ART: Wildlife art is a portal through which we can enter into a shared experience of the natural world. Eathfire offers opportunities to people of all ages to express themselves through music, painting, writing and photography. WELLNESS: Meeting the animals provides powerful experiences that help us heal, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. This in turn helps us heal the planet.
