Teen Reach afterschool program helps children who have various difficulties in school to receive homework assistance and tutoring,as well as life skills training, participate in sports/recreational activities and field trips. Our program is in need of patient, supportive adult tutoring and mentoring at the elementary level. We have found that many of our program children simply have no expectations of excellence for themselves. Program staff let them know that they can and should be on the honor roll; and many of them have achieved it. All volunteers must submit to a background check (performed by DCFS), have a background/expertise in academic education and working with minority children ages 6 to 13. This opportunity is sponsored by: Westside Holistic Family Services, Inc.
