Academic Support Tutor

Join the Youth Outreach Services team by becoming an Academic Support Tutor for youth, ages 11-17. You will help kids improve their basic academic skills, encouraging each to achieve their goals. Specific responsibilities include:

  1. Assist youth with homework.
  2. Encourage the academic achievements of kids.
  3. Meet, as requested, with program staff for supervision and feedback.
  4. Maintain confidentiality/privacy of kids in the program.

Hours needed include after school and early evenings.

Qualifications include:

  1. Interest and concern for youth.
  2. Patience, tolerance and open-mindedness about the unique qualities of kids.
  3. Dependability and sense of responsibility.
  4. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Interest and aptitude for assisting youth with academic studies.

Additionally, the position requires a background check & fingerprinting.
