Volunteers are needed to tutor adult learners, who have not graduated from high school, in basic reading, writing, math or computer skills as well as recent immigrants who wish to learn English as a Second Language (ESL). Tutoring an adult is a unique, exciting experience filled with personal rewards as well as challenges. After completing 12 hours of free training from Literacy Works, you will be matched with a student or with a small group of two or three students. We ask that you meet with your student/s at least one and a half to two hours each week over a period of six months to one year. This opportunity is sponsored by: Howard Area Community Center
