The Agency Listing allows you to describe your organization's mission, programs and other information to provide a picture of your organization to potential volunteers.  The Opportunity Form allows you to give a very specific description of each volunteer opportunity at your organization. You should list each opportunity separately.

How Does Your Site Work?
It's simple. Someone is interested in volunteering. They find our site and search for volunteer opportunities based on choices they make using searches on keyword, zip code, or expanded parameters such as time availability, skills and interests.  They get a list of the volunteer opportunities that match any or all of their choices. The volunteer can review all of the information, look at your agency listing, other opportunities and email or call you to start the volunteer process of becoming your volunteer. 

What Sort of Volunteers Will I Get?
Volunteers come to this web site from every walk of life. You will find high school students, college students, professionals in various fields, homemakers, retired people, corporate executives and employees of other nonprofits, and people with court-ordered community service. Anyone looking to make a difference may come to this web site.

* Agencies are responsible for screening potential volunteers following their own agency policies and Vermont and/or Federal law regarding background checks.  The United Way of Chittenden County Volunteer Center does not screen or do background checks on volunteers using the on-line service.

There are a number of ways you can help. Mention us to staff at other nonprofit agencies. The more nonprofits registered, the more publicity we can get and the more volunteers we can attract. Mention us to your friends. The more volunteers who come to the site the more we can help nonprofit organizations who depend on volunteers in order to provide services in our community.
