Overall Experience   
an enjoyable hour spent talking with a nice person

I spend an hour a week visiting with a particular person in the memory loss unit. We just talk about anything and have a nice visit. The program manager gave me lots of information on Alzheimer's and the Converse philosophy of treatment. The person I visit is very nice and has a great sense of humor. The staff are also nice and seem happy I'm there. Ideally, they'd like a visitor for each person in the unit. I believe they tried to match me with someone of similar interests who they felt would respond well to such a visit. I'm glad I gave this a try. posted on July 12, 2006
