The Fletcher Free Library's Summer Reading Program is an eight week long program involving over 900 Burlington youth. Volunteers will talk to children at the library about the books they have been reading, encouraging kids to discuss literature in a safe and encouraging environment. Volunteers will also be responsible for helping kids to keep track of the hours they have read, and giving out prizes when kids reach set reading goals. This year's Summer Reading Program will run from June 16 to August 6 with the theme of "Catch the Reading Bug."

A love of children and books, application, references, and background check are required. There will be a training for new volunteers on Thursday, June 12 from 3:30-4:30pm.
