It is our vision to "inspire children and their families to reach their full potential through discovery, creativity and learning"

Description:

TCM provides a unique and fun learning environment for children of all backgrounds and at all socioeconomic levels. Located in Downtown Tucson, TCM offers twelve exhibit galleries covering over 11,000 square feet. These include: Dinosaur World, Wee World-The Enchanted Rainforest, Ocean Discovery Center and Mind Your Own Body. TCM also offers guided tours to school groups, birthday parties, facility rentals and a year round calendar filled with activities, special holiday events, FREE days and Festivals of Friendship. Tucson Children's Museum is a wonderful family destination with traveling exhibits and upgrades continuously being made. If you haven't visited in a while...check us out!

History:
In the last thirty years, children's museums have emerged as new community institutions, providing unique, interactive settings where children and families learn and play together. With ninety-five new children's museums opening in the U.S. since 1990, and 80 more in the planning phase, children's museums are the fastest growing cultural institutions in the country. In Tucson as elsewhere, families are seeking destination attractions that provide a safe and supportive environment where children are enriched as well as entertained. Conceived in the 1980s by concerned community leaders, the Tucson Children's Museum has been in operation at its current location in the City's old Carnegie Library building since 1991.
