To improve the Quality of Life for individuals with disabilities, through the provision of support services which assist people in living and working independently in the community.

Description:
The agency is a non profit organization, which provides services in the community, for individuals needing assistance to live independently in their own homes and apartments. Services can include assistance in home care, shopping, money management, socialization, health care, self care, referral, and advocacy. All services are provided in the community, in the living situations of the individual or out in the community. CLS does not operate any group home, nursing homes, workshops, or other facilities. Services are available to elderly persons, people with developmental disabilities, people with emotional/ pyschiatric issues, families, and children. A variety of vocational support services/job coaching are also provided to assist people with special needs, to obtain and maintain employment in the community. Services are available 7 days per week, 24 hours per day.

History:
Community Living Services, Inc. was started in 1980 as part of Cass County Social Services. In 1990 it was incorporated as a private non-profit organization. It is operated by a Board of Directors and receives funding primarily from the State of North Dakota, Department of Human Services.
