The Children's Museum is a private, non-profit organization providing unique, dynamic, "hands-on" learning experiences for children and families of the Fargo-Moorhead community and the surrounding region.
Description:
We have over 50 hand's-on, self-guided exhibits for parents and children to interact with.
History:
In 1985, a joint project of the Fargo Park District and the Fargo-Moorhead Junior League was adopted. Complete renovation of the over 100 year old farmhouse and more than $500,000 had been invested in the facility prior to opening its doors. In 1989, a 21 member Board of Trustees was given the responsibility of governing the museum. The Board has moved from a "working" one to a policy and fund raising Board. In November of 1989, The Children's Museum opened its doors to the public. Since then, more than 199,000 children and families have visited the museum. The Children's Museum currently houses over 50 "hands-on" exhibits and offers a variety of educational programs and special events.
