The Mental Health America of North Dakota (MHAND) works for a world free from discrimination against mental illness.
The MHAND Mission is to promote mental health through education, advocacy, understanding and access to quality care for all individuals.

The Vision is to be a leader in creating a just, humane and healthy society in which all people are accorded respect, dignity and the opportunity to achieve their full potential free from discrimination against mental illness.



Description:
The Mental Health America of North Dakota is a non-government, non-profit, 501(c)3 organization that provides advocacy, education and referral, to all people free of charge. These free programs and services are: depression screenings, children's mental health programs in the schools, several weekly support groups, Myrt Armstrong Center-Social Club, Consumer conferences & advocacy, family education classes and several support groups.

History:
The Mental Health America of North Dakota was founded in 1952. Our regional office opened in 1978. We have a full-time state director, Susan Helgeland, a half-time office assistant, Carol Head, a half-time program administrator, and volunteers.
