The purpose of our organization is to advance the general welfare of the blind in the Trenton/Princeton area, and to serve as a vehicle through which blind and sighted persons can come together to carry out programs to improve the quality of life for the blind
Description:
Our Chapter also provides a means of collective action for parents of blind children, forwards the interest of blind students and provides them with a means of joint action and expression. Another aim is to promote the vocational, cultural, social and political advancement of the blind so that they can achieve integration into society and equality with the sighted population
History:
Our parent organization has been in existence since 1940 and our umbrella organization, the National Federation of the Blind of New Jersey was founded in 1976. Our chapter was founded September 30, 2000.
