SAVE, A Friend to Homeless Animals is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit shelter and animal welfare organization dedicated to protecting the health and wellbeing of companion animals in the Greater Princeton Area.
Description:
SAVE is a Princeton, NJ animal shelter saving and placing homeless dogs and cats from local and regional areas. No animal is adopted without being spayed or neutered. Through its six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Adoption and Humane Education, SAVE strives to substantially reduce animal overpopulation and the corresponding euthanasia of adoptable and treatable animals in our community. SAVE endeavors to build, foster, and strengthen the human-animal bond.
History:
SAVE was founded in 1941 in Princeton by 2 local veterinarians. Since then, SAVE has grown to house 75 dogs and cats.
