The mission of the NJ Office of the Ombudsman for the Institutionalized Elderly(OOIE)is to preserve, protect and promote the health, safety, and welfare of NJ's 60+ years residents of long-term care facilities.

Description:
The Volunteer Advocate Program initiative has been designed to:
*Enhance the quality of life experienced by residents of long-term care facilities.
*Provide information to residents and their families about their rights, as established by law.
*Prevent abuse, neglect and exploitation of residents through consistent presence and advocacy.
