To counsel, coach, and/or mentor small business owners or individuals who want to start a small business in Mercer and Middlesex Counties. As a volunteer resource partner of the Small Business Administration, all advice and services by our business counselors are provided FREE and confidential.
Description:
Business counseling, coaching, mentoring, is provided in Princeton, Hamilton, East Brunswick, South Brunswick, and New Brunswick, or if desirable at the business owner's place of business. Our members usually volunteer between 6 and 9 hours each month ( two or three times monthly), days and/or evenings, at one of the following locations: Princeton Public Library, Mercer County Connection Offices in Hamilton, PNC Bank in East Brunswick, South Brunswick Public Library, and Magyar Bank in New Brunswick. Our Chapter has had tremendous growth over the past three years and tripled the number of clients we have served in Mercer and Middlesex counties. As a result, we have been awarded "Chapter of the Year" for three consecutive years. We provide free advice on starting a new business, selling a business, franchises, and growing or improving an existing business in such areas as: Accounting, Advertising, Business Plans, Customer Service, Legal Structure, Marketing, Public Relations, Retail, Sales, Cost Reduction, Process Improvement, Human Resources, etc..
History:
Founded in 1964, SCORE has approximately 11,000 volunteer members located in nearly 400 chapters across the country. Our Chapter ( Greater Princeton Area) has 34 retired and still working business executives and entrepreneurs serving the Middlesex and Mercer County area. Due to our growth, we need several new volunters.
