The mission of the SSS is to develope musical groups and educational programs to service the culturally under-served districts of Central New Jersey by making the finer arts more accessable, affordable and meaningful to those in need.
Description:
Strings Work is an outreach program located in Beverly New Jersey that provides free lessons, violins, violas and cellos to low income families in the area. Students for Seniors Symphonies has a multi-generational orchestra in Freehold and Toms River to serve the central New Jersey area. A membership (dues) based organization, ages ranging from 6 to 96. Seeking music students and amateur string players to rehearse in a retirement community hall and perform at local hospitals, retirement communities, cancer centers and nursing homes. We like to call it "symphony therapy".
