Spectrum Health Rehab & Nursing Center's mission is to provide superior, valuable services to long term care residents and short term rehabilitation patients. Volunteers enhance our spirit of caring and compassion which radiates throughout Spectrum Health. Volunteers work together with staff and function in many capacities within the facility. Their special touch helps improve the quality of life for residents and patients.
Description:
Spectrum Health Rehab & Nursing Center is a 165 bed Long Term Care Facility with a specialty care unit. SHRNC has 106 long term care residents and 50 plus patients receiving short term rehabilitation. We are looking for volunteers to assist residents and patients in numerous ways in a variety of departments. Spectrum Health Rehab & Nursing Center program delivers medical, nursing and rehabilitative services. SHRNC is the only local facility-based skilled nursing program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for stroke, general rehabilitation, and brain injury rehabilitation.
History:
Spectrum Health Rehab & Nursing Center was built in 1965 and was formally called Grand Valley Health Center. In 1982 Butterworth Hospital purchased Grand Valley Health Center. In 2002 the name was changed to Spectrum Health Continuing Care Center, then to Spectrum Health Rehab & Nursing Center in 2008. SHRNC is part of the post acute services division of Spectrum Health, which also includes Spectrum Health Visiting Nurse Association, Spectrum Health Hospice, Spectrum Health Kent Community Campus, and Worth Services.
