To provide leadership to enhance the quality of life for all persons with Alzheimer's Disease, their families and caregivers; through compassionate programs and services and support for research and legislative advocacy. Our vision is to create a world without Alzheimer's Disease while optimizing quality of life for those persons affected by Alzheimer's Disease.
Description:
The services of the Alzheimer's Association, West Michigan Region provide support, guidance and education for persons with Alzheimer's Disease, their families and caregivers through:
- Helpline - a 24/7 telephone support system
- Individual consultation - assistance to families
- Support Groups- trained facilitators meet with small groups to share information and experiences
- Community Presentations and Workshops- on-going public awareness and education presentations for caregivers, healthcare professionals, civic, faith, and other groups
- "Safe Return"- a nationwide life-saving registration and identification program that helps locate and return people with dementia who may wander
- Newsletter - a quarterly publication featuring tips, calendars, news and updates on research and advocacy
- Web Site- resources and information available 24/7, including links to the national Alzheimer's Association and other related web sites.

The Alzheimer's Association West Michigan Region serves Osceola, Ionia, Kent, Mecosta, Montcalm, and Ottawa Counties.
