Description:
The Grand Rapids Children's Museum offers a hands-on environment. Our interactive exhibits and programming encourages self-directed exploration. Kids discover a new museum every time they visit. Bubbles Bubbles, Funstruction, the Bee Hive, Wee Discover, Fishing are just a few of the exciting exhibits the children can experience. We encourage our volunteers to join in the fun! Touch, create, imagine.
History:
The Grand Rapids Children's Museum opened it's doors at 11 Sheldon N.E. Grand Rapids on July 31, 1997. The guiding philosophy of the Children's Museum is based on a couple basic beliefs - that play is a child's work, and that children learn best when they direct their own learning. Since the opening, the museum has been the hosted the national traveling Dr. Seuss exhibit, Mister Roger's exhibit and the Magic School Bus-Inside the Earth exhibit.
