Camp Fire USA West Michigan Council is a non-profit youth development organization that builds caring, confident youth, and future leaders. Our programs serve school-age children and youth and strive to help youth develop the skills, values, and experiences they need today to grow into healthy, caring, and productive members of our community

Description:
Since 1919, Camp Fire USA has offered school-age boys and girls fun programs that build relationships with peers and caring adults, foster self-esteem, healthy lifestyles, character development, leadership skills, and social responsibility. Today's Camp Fire youth participate in Camp Fire Club, attend after-school and summer youth development programs in low-income, at-risk neighborhoods, give back to the community through service-learning projects, come together with family at Community Family Club, and learn life-skills through Camp Fire’s Self-Reliance program.

History:
Originally founded as Camp Fire Girls, Camp Fire USA has a rich history in West Michigan. From the shores of Lake Michigan to the shores of Lake Hesperia, youth in Camp Fire have fond memories of the friends they made and the adventures they shared as youth.

Today's Camp Fire continues to give boys and girls opportunities to make new friends, explore their interests, learn new things, and to form their own childhood memories. In 1995, our youth programs expanded to urban neighborhoods so that under-served youth could experience the positive youth development programs that their suburban counterparts had known for years. Camp Fire's after-school and summer programs have grown into our largest programs, serving more youth than our other programs combined. Along with our life-skills programs for elementary school youth, service-learning, and Club, Camp Fire continues to build caring, confident youth and future leaders.
