Position title: Board Connections Position
Description: Our Board members guide and refresh the organization’s mission. On a practical level, they are charged with being an advocate, spreading the word to people and funders outside the group. Board members exercise fiduciary oversight and certify that the organization meets its legal and financial obligations. They also serve on committees and attend meetings.

We are seeking several individuals with any combination of the skills below:

  1. ACCOUNTABILITY
-Understand board members' fiduciary duties and statutory obligations.

  1. STRATEGIC THINKING
-Contribute to the development of a shared vision and corporate direction.
-Formulate strategic goals and targets.

  1. MONITORING
-Analyze and interpret financial statements and management reports.
  1. POLICY DEVELOPMENT
-Take account of the impact of policy decisions on stakeholders and customers.

  1. DECISION MAKING
-Present a balanced perspective on issues and decisions.
-Take account of diverse community attitudes, opinions, values and cultures.
  1. NETWORKING
-Access business, community and government networks on behalf of the board.
-Develop alliances and partnerships within and outside the industry or community sector.
-Represent and promote the board within the industry and to the community.

-Evaluate needs, priorities, alternatives and consequences.
-Suggest proposals and solutions to improve board processes and outcomes.
  1. TEAMWORK
-Understand individual and team roles and responsibilities.
