MentorWorks Too-Kinship’s mission is to establish quality relationships for the purpose of friendship, support, stability and community. We strive to improve the lives of children and families by connecting them to their community through relationships. In turn they can take the risks and chances necessary to make changes that can improve their lives.

MentorWorks Too-Kinship is affiliated with the National Kinship Network.MentorWorks Too-Kinship has been matching children with mentors since 1997. MentorWorks Too-Kinship is the only formal mentoring program in Renville County. We believe we have proven our worth and stability. We continue to grow as a program in a variety of ways and we make a positive difference in many people’s lives.
MentorWorks Too-Kinship staff coordinates the Back to School Supply collection and distribution,the Winter Coats for Kids winter clothing collection and distribution, Santa's Closet (A Christmas toys for children program)and a free household and clothing distribution site in Renville County. All of the projects that MentorWorks Too-Kinship coordinates have been in response to community needs and requests that were not being met by another agency or organization. We establish quality empowering relationships with all the participants in the programs that we administer.
Currently MentorWorks Too-Kinship collaborates with all five school districts in Renville County, Renville County Public Health and Renville County Human Services for referrals of youth and families in need.

History:
In response to research indicating an increase in self destructive behaviors and a deficit in Developmental Assets of youth in the BDRSH School District, MentorWorks Too-Kinship was established in 1997 by the BDRSH Rural Partners in Prevention with the then BDRSH School District agreeing to be the fiscal agent for the program. MentorWorks Too-Kinship has since expanded to serve all of the communities in Renville County and the RCW School district has continued to be the fiscal agent.
