The mission of Kenosha Unified School District, an educational system which values our multicultural heritage, is to empower all students to reach their unique capabilities, contribute to our community, and compete in a global society by providing diverse and challenging opportunities to learn through the collaborative efforts of students, families, community and staff. The Collaborative Student Mentoring Program's mission is to match students and volunteers on-site and off-site to build personal relationships and aid in academic achievement.
Description:
The Mentoring Program currently provides volunteer mentors for K.U.SD. students in collaboration with seven community agencies, including Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Racine and Kenosha Counties, Boys and Girls Club-Circle of Hope Mentoring Program, Community Impact Programs (CIP) Achieve and WIA Youth Employment Programs, Goodwill Foster Grandparent Program, Kenosha Area Business Alliance (K.A.B.A.) Mentor Program, The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (R.S.V.P.) and our newest addition, Ethnic Elders-Reach One, Teach One Mentoring Program.
