Hearts and Horses Therapeutic Riding Center's mission is to promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being of people with special needs through equine assisted therapy.
Description:
Hearts and Horses celebrated it's tenth year in 2007. Our agency serves both children and adults of all ages. We utilize the assistance of over 125 volunteers per week to run our programs. In addition to our therapy programs we also have ongoing opportunities to work with at-risk-youth. Hearts and Horses also partners with other area agencies in order to build a better community. We offer fun and rewarding opportunities for individual, family and group volunteers.
History:
Hearts and Horses began over ten years ago, initially using property of another local ranch. We were then given donations that allowed us to purchase our own 23 acre ranch where we re currently located. Over the years we have grown from a small program with a few volunteers to a program serving over 50 riders per six week session.
