Our Vision: Our physicians and staff are the preferred providers of health care to our community, demonstrating compassion and excellence in caring for our patients in the Mercy Tradition. Our Values: Respect, Social Justice, Compassion, Excellence and Care of the Poor and Underserved
Description:
Our volunteers are caring community members who are dedicated to preserving and enhancing the value, dignity and quality of life of the patients, personnel and they community they serve.
History:
Our Volunteer Service department was founded on April 23, 1929. The primary role was to assist the hospital with fund raising efforts. In the early 1960's saw a change in focus, moving from it's primary responsibility of fund raising to working in patient service areas. The volunteers exemplify the spirit and values of Catherine McCauley, the foundress of the Sister of Mercy who's life was dedicated to caring for all with compassion and dignity.
