The mission of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is to end the devastating effects of MS. Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, often disabling disease that randomly attacks the central nervous system. Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness or tingling in the limbs or severe such as paralysis or loss of vision.

Description:
The Greater Delaware Chapter of the National MS Society raises funds to provide programs, counseling and research to help over 1,250 Delawareans and their families living with MS. Through the MS Walk, The MS Bike tour: Bike to the Bay and the children's Readathon, monies are raised to bring us closer to a cure. Annually, hundreds of volunteers reach out to help with these events.

History:
Established in 1946, The National MS Society is dedicated to ending the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis. Through its home office and 50 state chapters, the Society funds research, distributes information and provides more programs for people with MS than any other MS organization in the world.
