Our goal is to assist residents in successfully engaging with, or transitioning into, the larger St. Cloud area through culturally and linguistically appropriate programs for adults and youth of all ages.

Description:
La Cruz is a 104-unit apartment community in South St. Cloud that provides housing for families whose income is at or below the 60% of the area median. The population is of diverse ethnic heritage, with many immigrant families. The La Cruz community Liaison program serves this community by providing advocation, information and resource referrals with the collaboration of agencies, institutions and organizations of the area.

History:
La Cruz Community Apartments is managed by Catholic Charities since 1996; we quickly recognized that it was necessary to take steps to address issues and barriers for families living there so the Community Liaison Program was established. Currently the population of La Cruz is 88% non-Caucasian and more than 50% of residents are recent immigrants (primarily from Africa). We strive to provide the resources necessary for a smoother transition of the La Cruz residents to the wider St. Cloud Community.
