We Believe that the skill and dedication of our staff and the trust of our residents and their families are our most precious assets.

Description:
Jerome Home offers a full range of high quality retirement housing with available health care facilities and services designed to promote the maximum personal independence, health, safety, self-exteem and dignity of older people and their families. The home is dedicated to creating individual care needs with consistency, warmth and respect. Jerome Home is a 116 bed multi-skill level facility located on a beautifully landscaped 5.5 acre campus.

History:
On May 21st, 1900, Mr. Augustus Smith Jerome signed his Will leaving his money and
belongings to various charities and individuals. Included in this Will was a paragraph that
requested that a Home be established for infirm men and women in New Britain and
vicinity. This was to be done with the financial support of the remaining assets of his
estate. Mr. Jerome died in 1905. Soon the planning for the Jerome Home
began. Many years passed before the home could be constructed, and in 1932 the doors
opened to meet the needs of the elderly community.
The original building is the West Wing, built in 1932, which now houses the Home for
the Aged residents. The East Wing was built in 1974 and now houses residents who need
Intermediate Care. In 1990, the North Wing was built for residents who need Skilled
Nursing Care.

Through the years Jerome Home has offered a residence to elderly individuals who
could not, for various medical or social reasons, live alone. The Home offers security,
comfort, nursing, and social support. These services are administered by the staff, and also
the volunteers. We hope you will enjoy being part of the long history of Jerome Home.
We are proud of our services and hope you will be too.
